I relocated here from Greenville, South Carolina, came to join the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, known as CVG. I remember when we were offered the opportunity to come up here for the job, my whole family came up.Â
While I was interviewing and meeting people at the airport, my wife was out driving around trying to figure out, “Where do we want to live?” She went to Cincinnati and looked, but we settled in Northern Kentucky because the school system throughout the town is just incredible.
Like I said, it has everything to offer, from a big city to rural areas within minutes. We enjoy the urban corridor, but we also like our privacy out in the more rural areas. The area has been super welcoming. I lived in the South, and there’s always this thing about Southern charm, but here you have the Southern charm plus the Midwest nice, combined. It has been very eye-opening for my family.
We love exploring different neighborhoods throughout the Cincinnati region. The parks within the region are amazing. We love taking advantage of the trails, riding our bikes. And Boone Lake Park, we love going there to go hiking and exploring.Â
The area also has a lot to offer: professional sports, from soccer to football to baseball. You can’t go wrong going to one of the games.
The festivals around town — I think between the city of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, there are a lot of festivals that people might not know that this area has to offer. That is economic development in one sense, but it also provides a higher quality of life for the people who live here.Â
The city has a lot of diversity when it comes to food scenery. We enjoy going to Covington because we like the urban corridor. Easy to navigate, easy to park, and you can kind of walk around. Whether we go to Hotel Covington for dinner, or we go to MainStrasse and find places like Mama’s on Main.Â
Anywhere we go, I feel like there are a lot of hidden gems that we can find.
