Covington, KY – BE NKY announced today that Wade Williams has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Business Development.

“Wade’s leadership in developing strong business development programs such as NKY Boost, our business retention and expansion (BR&E) program, and workforce development efforts have been instrumental to the success of the region’s strong manufacturing industry,” said Dan Tobergte, President & CEO of BE NKY. “Wade helped launch the Northern Kentucky Chapter of the Federation of Advanced Manufacturing (NKY FAME) and was the key lead for 15 expansion projects and more than 1,400 jobs announced in 2014.”

Williams joined BE NKY in 2011 as Vice President Manufacturing Projects/BR&E. Through NKY Boost, he has led visits with industry representatives in the region to address challenges local companies are experiencing and identify opportunities for business expansion and growth; creating a bridge among employers and community and education organizations.

“A dozen students entered the Advanced Manufacturing Technician program through NKY FAME at Gateway Community & Technical College,” Tobergte added. “This is an important step forward in developing our region’s future manufacturing workforce.”

In 2014, through NKY Boost, Williams worked with TANK and eBay to partner on a pilot route during the holiday season to provide transportation for employees. In addition, BE NKY worked with Boone County and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 6 to establish a traffic light at an intersection on KY 237 to ease congestion and allow trucks easy access onto I-275.

Prior to joining BE NKY, Williams was director, business management, at Duke Energy. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in public administration from Northern Kentucky University. He was awarded the Next Generation Leadership Award for Business and Finance by LEGACY, a Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce program that fosters young leaders in the region. Williams and his wife, Kara, reside in Northern Kentucky with their daughter.
