Ft. Mitchell, KY (May 6, 2019) – Site Selection Magazine, a national site consulting publication, has named BE NKY as one of the top 15 economic development groups in the United States for the second year in a row.
BE NKY was awarded a 2019 Mac Conway Award for Excellence in Economic Development, presented by Site Selection Magazine, and will be highlighted in the May issue. Only 15 economic development groups – out of more than 5,000 nationally – are selected for this award each year.
“Northern Kentucky and the entire Cincinnati Metro area are attractive to companies for a number of reasons,” said Lee Crume, President and CEO of BE NKY. “We have an outstanding selection of top manufacturing companies, aerospace, automotive, food and flavoring and high-tech companies as well as a robust logistics and supply chain hub to support them. We also have one of the top performing airports in the country, making this region one of the best places for companies to locate and expand their businesses.”
Award winners are determined by Site Selection through assessing an economic development organization’s success in attracting new facilities according to per capita and total capital investment and per capita and new jobs created. In addition, Site Selection looks at creativity of economic development strategy, depth and breadth of project activity, ability to generate breakthrough deals, and the ability to properly document the contributions of the economic development organization to actual project results.
In 2018, BE NKY reported 20 new market entry and expansion projects which announced more than 2,500 new jobs and $250 million in new capital investment in the region, including a $40 million investment by Klosterman Baking Company for the location of a new manufacturing facility in Hebron.
