Long-term repairs will soon begin on the Cincinnati approach of the Purple People Bridge spanning the Ohio River between Newport and Cincinnati. Officials with the City of Newport say these repairs will permanently fix structural damage that caused a nearly six-month closure in 2024 and required a temporary shoring tower for more than two years.
