SYGMA Kentucky, a Sysco company, recently celebrated the opening of a new 330,000-square-foot facility in Burlington.
SYGMA is a leading foodservice supplier that specializes in serving large, national chain restaurants throughout the country.
This new facility is one of SYGMA’s largest sites and will help the company meet the demands of the growing local market. By 2025, SYGMA plans to employ more than 300 people at this location at an average estimated annual wage of $80,000. This location is SYGMA’s 15th distribution center.
Boone County Judge/Executive Gary Moore thanked SYGMA’s leadership for locating in Northern Kentucky.
“As Boone County continues its strong population growth trajectory, companies like SYGMA play an important role in foodservice for the restaurants serving our community,” said Moore. “We welcome SYGMA’s new location and the hundreds of new jobs it’s bringing to the region.”
BE NKY CEO Lee Crume said SYGMA and Sysco are national leaders in foodservice and help keep communities fed.
“SYGMA’s new facility, only a one-day drive to more than half of the U.S. population, will enable the company to launch service to the Midwest’s high-growth markets,” said Crume. “The growth of the transportation and logistics (T&L) industry cluster in Northern Kentucky from 2015 – 2020 helped the region be the leader in job creation in the commonwealth.”
